For more than 30 years it hadn’t been so cold in the valleys of Alto-Adige, in May temperature dropped well below 0°C . The nights were lit by miles of anti-frost candles.
300 candles placed in 1 hectare vineyard supposed to increase 3°C the temperature.
To help fruit trees was used the so-called anti-frost irrigation, a layer of ice prevents the flowers from further damages.
