February, 1st 2022 – Batzella, founded in 2000 by Khanh Nguyen and Franco Batzella, comprising 7.5 hectares of precious vineyards on the coast of central Tuscany, between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri. was bought by Bell’Aja winery.
Bell’Aja, a winery in Bolgheri with 6 hectares, is owned by San Felice since 2016.
Agricola San Felice, part of the Allianz Group since the late 1970s, has properties for a total of approximately 685 hectares and extends over the Chianti Classico, Montalcino and Bolgheri area.
Ms Khanh Nguyen is the first on only Vietnamese oenologist I ever met. I happily recall a few years ago, in Shanghai, I had the pleasure to sit next to Khanh and Franco, a lovely couple, drink their wines and listen to their stories. Wish you all the best!
First, Happy lunar New Year! Thank you so much for remembering us and Batzella wines. It was a lovely evening sharing lovely wines and we cherish the memory of such spontaneous friendship. Indeed time does not wait for anyone and it is time for us to turn another page of our life. The San Felice colleagues will continue our legacy and Batzella wines will remain available to all their fans around the world.
