The pandemic was not enough to convince Italian wineries to open the e-shopping channel.
Despite the exceptional numbers of online sales during the lockdown, the wine sector is still lagging behind.
The survey “The digital taste of Italian wine” by Omnicom PR Group analysed the presence and online activities of the top 25 Italian wineries (as surveyed by Mediobanca 2020 report): only 6 out of 25 have its own online shop (same number of 2019).
