2019 has been positive in general terms, total revenue surpassed 14 billion €, with the historical record of Italian exports of 6.4 billion € (46% of total).
The Italian wine industry is highly fragmented with a myriad of small wineries. In fact (in 2018) only 33 wineries booked over 50 million €. And only 105 wineries booked over 10 million €, representing 46.5% of the sector’s total turnover and 62.6% of total exports.
According to the Pambianco analysis of the first ten Italian wine companies (pre-final balance), the growth was 2% for the real estate companies commercial and 5% premium.
The turnover leadership remains firmly in the hands of the Cantine Riunite & GIV group, which reach 624 million €.
